Many hikers are surprised by the beauty of the landscapes along this route and by the presence of snow-capped peaks such as Alpamayo, voted the most beautiful mountain in the world by a committee of climbers in 1966, Artesonraju, Taulliraju, Quitaraju, and Pucajirca.
